1st September 2024
Folk Off folk music festival at Alnwick Playhouse

We are delighted to be performing again at the Alnwick Playhouse, this time as part of the Folk Off folk music festival on 1st of September 2024. Performing a set of new songs and old favourites (including 'Horo Haradalla',  'Seeds of Love', 'Buy Broom Besoms' and more), we explore and celebrate the shared experiences of women, our connections to the world and to each other, and the imperatives of peace.
(Not to mention the loveliness that is Benedict Cumberbatch!)

Come join us along with a great lineup of performers at the Sunday session (session 4) starting at noon.

Coal, Carols and Choruses

at Woodhorn Colliery Museum in Ashington, Northumberland
7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:30)
Tickets: £10
Werca‘s Folk, with their director, Sandra Kerr, are absolutely delighted to be presenting an evening of song celebrating the history of the coal industry in this region and beyond at Woodhorn Museum.

There will be readings from the people who supported the miners, and plenty of opportunity to join in on the choruses of some of our other repertoire which expresses the loves, lives, hopes and hardship of women.
And because we will be firmly in Christmas mode, we’ll add some of our carols to warm and enchant you.
